Map + Trade Overhaul Needed..some Suggestions
1) When Im selling or buying, or recruiting some1 for party, if some1 pings me, I have to TELL where I am; and amongst the THOUSANDS that throng the environment, I have to scan and find out where HE/SHE is. I'd like the circular map to be more intelligent. If ive clicked on a char name, the map should highlight his char in the color of the "intention" (ie,if ive clicked on a char name for a private chat, the character on the map should be highlighted in a blue triangle). SO I'll know EXACTLY where he is. Of course, I wont see him if hes in a diff district or place altogether, which is cool coz I'll KNOW then that he isnt here, instead of asking him/her which district he/she is in etc etc.
Moreover, map should automatically all GUILD members in the guild member chat colour(Dark Green). Pretty useful for guildies to get together. It just doesnt cut to should in guild chat where every1 is etc.
2) Plz allow players to set up "personal Shop". Its a simple yet brilliant idea. Instead of running around screaming "dye for sale, weapons for sale". Set up a HOT KEY (Like ALT-M) which opens a slotted-window into which u can drag and drop items from ur invetory. Each slot has a price text box underneath. Set a price for EACH item. Once, when ALL prices of items are set, press a button that says open shop(u can provide a title - "DYES, WEAPONS for SALE " etc etc. A text/image highlight will pop up over ur head with ur shop name. ALL other peeps need 2 do is click on the shop name over ur head and ur personal shop opens up(same slotted window..with items and prices underneath) and double click on the item they wanna buy.
The shop owner NEED NOT do ANYTHING. He can go afk, come back and see all his goods have been sold and he can get back to the fun part..PLAYING!!!
GW Developers..PLEEEEEEEEEEEEZEEEE....Heed this call!!

Well,
As for Part2, dude, I borrowed this Idea from a game called A3(Massive following in the Oriental, where they claim to have notched up over a mill subscribers.). The game sucks, period. But they DO have a classy trading systems(not to mention some mind blowing armour and Skill effects, the armor in GW basically looks like Rags compared 2 it)..im drifting.. my point is, they've done the Personal Shop(similar to auction..diff name); GW can come up with something similar.
Ya, Part1 is a NECESSITY. I feel handicapped without knowing where my buddies(again, should be highlighted..like the guild-mates) and chat-targets are. Shouting till u find em is just LAME.

ok i hav some crazy idea for a type of auction house.
a HUGEEEE town that people come to,pay money to set up their own shop, then start selling. they can advertise what theyre selling by showing it above their name like a big speech bubble or an icon u press and it tells u wat theyre selling, what the current offer is,buyout, how long left till auction finishes and stuff like that. this place has to be huge like about 2 or 3 times bigger than lions arch.

Better still, it TRULY will be 24X7 . Ppl will be district hopping districts to all the market squares to see what catches their fancy.
I second this idea!!

I do like the selling idea.
I often have a heap of salavged stuff and weapons that I would like to sell, but I just cant be bothered half the time with the hassle of advertising in towns. I often end up giving away the weapons to low level people to help them out, and although i wouldnt stp doing that making a few gold each time would be great, so I have sme money in my account.

true.
I mostly run around yelling asking peeps 2 buy my stuff. mostly, i sell it to NPCs at an atrociously sad price. Trading is dull and should be kept for AFK sessions(unless ur item is on bid. nothing better 2 see peeps bid for an item which u thot would cost Xg but starts ringing int 2Xg or 3Xg....) even then..ud just wanna sit and watch the price of ur item evolve...like an in-game Ebay!!

#1 Good idea. But why not simply copy and paste the char name in the Party block? There will be no need to scan. Just hit ctrl + C to copy. ctrl + V to paste.
#2 A trade system is needed. I like the trade system they have with Eve-online. It's called market place and allows you to search for the very weapons/upgrade,ships, whatever you need. It also provides a market analysis that tracks buying/selling prices over the course of days, weeks, and months. That way you can compare prices. And you can make a better decision on whether your getting good price for a that Uber 1337 sword or not.
Whatever trade system they will hopefully use. They need an in game search engine. So you can find exactly what you're looking for in a snap. Without a search engine you'll just have the same LA district 1 problem you have now.

Shops
I used to play a free game called Knight Online and they had a setup where while you were in a town you could just type /merchant.
Once you did this you were asked to place the items that you wanted to sell into an inventory space, and select the price you wanted to sell at.
When you were done a little booth formed around you and you started selling.
Only problem was that while you were selling you could not go and play.
I like this idea but I think it needs to have a town or section of town where you are allowed to do this.
In KO everyone was selling and it was hard to read names, walk around etc...

They need a way to sell without your presence. Put your stuff up for sale and then forget about it. When someone buy the money is automatically dumpped into your account.

Part 2 was (and maybe is, havn't played eq2 for some time) implemented in EQ2.
The thing is, there everyone started screaming "OMG! I can't play AND sell!!!111 give marked place/auction house now!!!111", and I think the same thing would happen here, so I think it would cause some shouting after everyone got used to it. However, I think its a very good way of selling things, since it automaticaly controls the marked to some extent, that is, the market wont get flooded with every item in the game (not everyone wants to leave their computer on for 24/7).

Well, you keep the Trade Channell open. Because there will always be someone who only needs 1 sqaure fur and they don't want to buy in bulk. So implement the the trade system AND keep the trade channels open. This satisfies both.
